    CLIMATE CHANGE

No ONE - and by ONE I mean someone who has been living on this planet for quite some time - can deny that the climate is changing. I believe that it is as fast as the technology and its development!

We don’t have proper seasons anymore, the increase in infectious diseases is on increase – and we hear about it all the time. In the past I have never heard or had so called “summer cold” until recent years!
It is actually amazing that in UK alone, ONE can experience all 4 season in one day! but with no settled and appropriate weather within. I don’t complain about the hot days we have but ponder why the temperature in October reaches 23C?? But then again how disappointing it is – to me anyway – not to experience and enjoy snow and proper cold weather for a settled period of time.

Animals are getting endangered or even extinct, as Al Gore highlighted it in “Inconvenient truth”. And I agree that it is caused by human doing. The whole wildlife kingdom gets confused which causes disturbs or has disastrous consequences on food chains. The climate change causes temperatures to rise which in effect increases sea water levels leaving animals vulnerable.

Another thing that makes me wonder is – how many people have seen starry night?? Definitely doubtful if you live in London! Pollution? Yes. Stars?  No. How disappointing it is not being able to enjoy our world as we should.

There is lack of exposure of the knowledge on the subject of climate change and how to bring to a halt further damage (whether it is possible???) or perhaps delay the course or minimize it.

SADLY most of the people don’t really think about the issue; some even say that it is not happening.
We, as Graphic Designers have this great opportunity but also responsibility to help our environment and make sure that the artificial is replaced by the sustainable.

I truly believe that knowledge about how to make our lives healthy; our planet untainted requires healthy DAILY approach to our actions. But it must also be instilled from as early age as possible (accordingly).

Ps. Bluebells bloom in my garden right now! Total confusion…
